The Committee

Our committee play a vital role in ensuring the running and existence of our pre-school. To find out more, please read the following message from our chair person, Sinead.

Hello! My name is Sinead and I’m proud to be the current Chairperson of the Youth Club Pre-School. I joined the committee in April 2025 with a heartfelt desire to give back to the community that has given so much to my family.

As a mum of three, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact our preschool has had on my children. Two of my boys have attended, and although my eldest missed out due to full capacity, the love, care, and nurturing environment here have helped my younger sons grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.

Before becoming a parent, I worked as an Assistant Headteacher at a primary school in Harrow. I’ve always been passionate about supporting children’s development and helping schools reflect, grow, and improve. With this background in education, I felt I could bring valuable insight and leadership to our preschool—ensuring our little ones continue to flourish and become school-ready in the best possible way.

Being part of the committee is a privilege. It’s a chance to shape the future of our preschool, support our dedicated staff, and build a strong, inclusive community for all our families.

🧠 What Is the Committee?

We’re a group of parents and community members who help run our preschool as a charity-led setting. Together, we make decisions, support staff, and ensure our preschool thrives.

🌟 Positives of Being a Committee-Led Charity Preschool

There are several benefits to this model:

  • Parental Involvement: Parents have a direct say in how the preschool is run, fostering a strong sense of community and ownership.

  • Skill Development: Committee members often gain valuable experience in leadership, finance, and governance.

  • Community Spirit: These settings tend to be deeply rooted in their local communities, creating lasting relationships. This is very much evident with us.

  • Child Centered Focus: Decisions are made with children's best interests at heart, not profit.
